Our Goals

Teachers across Scotland had to teach online due to the covid pandemic. Although this offered many challenges, teachers responded by ensuring they upskilled in online teaching therefore putting them in an excellent position to support learning online, beyond the school classroom.

In Glasgow alone, there are thousands of asylum seekers and refugees college waiting lists for ESOL lessons.

We would like to ask teachers, both currently teaching and retired, to offer an hour or two per week to teach English language online to refugees and asylum seekers.

Learning English will help people to integrate into their communities, communicate their daily needs, for example, with teachers and doctors. They will be able to attend social activities and build friendships and networks of support.
